The remains of Comedy King Rodolfo “Dolphy” Vera Quizon were brought to the Heritage Park in Taguig City before midnight Tuesday, hours after he passed away at age 83.
Dolphy’s remains arrived at the Heritage Park at 11:55 p.m. from the Makati Medical Center, radio dzBB reported early Wednesday.
But the public was not immediately allowed to proceed there to pay their respects to Dolphy. Only the family was allowed to do so.
Dolphy died of “multiple organ failure secondary to complications brought about by severe pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and acute renal failure” before 9 p.m. Tuesday.
He would have turned 84 on July 25.
The Comedy King was confined at the Makati Medical Center on June 9 and remained at the intensive care unit.
Fans and supporters flocked to the MMC and took to social networking sites Facebook and Twitter to express their sorrow over his passing. — ELR, GMA News
